About the Project:
Client: F.B. Eminson & Son Ltd
Our client, F.B. Eminson & Son Ltd, was established in 1958 and specialises in the production of oriental vegetables, including pak choi, bok choi and choi sum. Crops are grown under glass and in polytunnels, with the full production process encompassing planting, harvesting and packing. The company supplies major retailers such as Morrisons and Asda, as well as wholesale markets.
This project involved the construction of an extension to enhance the client’s existing structure and improve both functionality and performance. The brief was to create a robust, weather-resistant extension that would increase usable space, maximise natural light and enhance the current building. Using high-quality materials and bespoke components designed and manufactured in-house, the project was carefully planned and delivered to meet the client’s operational needs, while allowing for future flexibility.

The Process:
Commercial Glasshouse Contracts Ltd attended the premises to carry out a comprehensive extension, delivering a fully integrated and purpose built solution.
The project involved the complete replacement of an existing cement board roof as part of a roofing upgrade programme. Following the removal of the old roof, a new Kingspan roofing system was installed to improve durability, performance and appearance.
The works included the installation of Kingspan QuadCore roof cladding in Khaki Green, along with new PVC guttering and bespoke flashings to ensure a fully weather-tight finish. External barge boards were also fitted in matching Khaki Green, complemented by colour-matched capped fixings and stitchers for a consistent appearance.
Coping flashings in Khaki Green were supplied and installed, complete with foam fillers, to provide a neat and secure edge detail throughout the roofline.

The Result:
The completed project delivered a modern, high-performance roofing solution that significantly enhanced both the functionality and visual appeal of the building. The Kingspan system offers excellent thermal performance and durability, while the FM-approved specification provides added assurance of quality and compliance.
With its clean internal finish, robust construction and cohesive colour scheme, the new building provides a long-lasting, low-maintenance solution that meets the client’s operational and aesthetic requirements.
Upon completion, the site was left clean, clear, and tidy, with all materials, waste, and debris fully removed in accordance with the client’s requirements. The works were completed to a high standard, leaving the area ready for immediate onward use.
